GVWGA President's Message-14

Hello Members,

Its hard to believe we're already winding down to the end of the 2023 season as we celebrate Labor Day, the unofficial end of summer. We've had some beautiful sunshine, little heat and humidity and occasional rain - some torrential rain storms...your basic upstate NY summer weather! I was able to play in all the tournaments this year signing up as a single for several events. Matched up with some people I had never played with before and a couple I had never even met, I found it quite a rewarding experience. Maybe consider giving that a try next year.

We're past the deadline to play Sodus but there are still a couple chances to get together. The Solheim Cup is being played at Genesee Valley this year on September 24th. The first foursome should be finishing their round about 2 or 2:30. Join us at the 18th green to cheer on the players. And...the luncheon is available to all GVWGA members, not just the players. ($24 payable that day in cash only includes tax and gratuity). Contact Lissa Schaefer today to make your reservation.

And finally...mark your calendar for the fall Awards Banquet scheduled for Tuesday, October 10th. Check the website in a couple days for the flyer with banquet details and reservation information.
