Hello Members,

The June message is not about business but a little "blast from the past" for the long time members who remember...way back when...the tournament recaps.

We opened the 2023 season with the Get Acquainted tournament at Island Oaks. We can thank Judy Hazelden for a great job, although difficult to manage, 6/6/6 format (6 holes alternate shot, 6 holes scramble, 6 holes best ball). While 80 players enjoyed the great weather, most...not all...enjoyed the unusual game

Once again Mother Nature cooperated with plentiful sunshine and pleasant temperatures on 5/21 for our Member/Guest event at Morgan's Crossing featuring a 2 girl scramble format. "Lots of fun" many foursomes reported. Heavy rain the day before left a few swampy areas on the course but we splashed through and carried on. Approximately 60 players took part in the buffet lunch at Jack's Place next door. Many thanks to Liz Prescod for a well organized, successful tournament.

Ninety members enjoyed the warm temperature, low humidity and gentle breezes which marked the day for our 5/30 event at Ravenwood - this time a 2 out of 4 best ball. A team event is always enjoyable especially with the course in spectacular shape. However, so much sand on that course made it feel like a day at the beach! We appreciate the fine job Joan Hawes did to put it all together.

And finally - a special tribute to the Golf Genius team who do all the behind the scenes work - creating score cards, score reporting, data input etc - while we just show up and play golf.

So, hopefully the good weather will continue. See you on the course.
